I Famagu’on-ta must establish a full array of mental health and support services in order to meet the clinical and functional needs of the target population. This array must consist of, but is not limited to, the following:
Individualized Wrap Coordination
The procedures and activities that are appropriately scheduled and used to deliver services, treatments, and supports to a child and the child’s family. These procedures and activities must fit the unique needs of the child and the child’s family.
Out-Patient Services
Services provided in a clinic, office, school, or other appropriate location, including individual, group and family counseling services, professional consultation, and review and management of medication.
Counseling
Individual and/or Family Therapy that engages clients in resolving or
Psychiatric and Diagnostic Services. An evaluation conducted by a Psychiatrist to determine whether the child or adolescent is a “Child in need of mental health” .
Crisis Response Services
Emergency services available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including crisis outreach and crisis intervention.
Day Treatment
A structured program to provide temporary educational instruction to a child or adolescent who is unable to obtain the instruction in the classroom, and to provide therapy, behavioral management, life and leadership skills. The objective is to support and motivate the child/adolescent to move to a level of confidence and empowerment for a leadership role.
Home-Based Services
Services for children and their families when the child is at imminent risk of out-of-home placement or upon return from out-of-home placement
Respite Care
A service designed to provide support to the child or adolescent and family by providing an opportunity for the child or adolescent and family to have time apart such as a “break-time” or “time-out” to help support and strengthen the family. The objective is to prevent the family from reaching a crisis point.
Transition Services
Addressing the different transitional phases a child/adolescent may experience that is inclusive of but not limited to the following: continuing mental health services, residential and/or education placement.
Flex Funds
Therapeutic and emergency funding in support of Individualized Wrap Plans. To assist in providing creative and “non-traditional” supports designed to improve the functioning of the child, youth, and family within home and community settings.
Therapeutic Group Home
24 hour residential treatment facility with the least restrictive environment that should not exceed a population of ten (10) children/adolescents, which provides medication management, therapy, and proper training to ensure smooth transitions back into the child/adolescents natural home similar home setting.
Treatment Foster Care
A Therapeutic approach that helps children/adolescents make changes so they can be successful in their homes, schools and communities. In treatment foster care, trained and qualified professional treatment parents work with a child in their own home. They are paid for their service which is usually intended to help reunite children with their families.
